A huge thank you to all the students from Bucks New University who helped us on the common.

One group tackled the trees along Willow Avenue, removing all the low branches to give clearance beneath the trees.

The others worked in the opposite corner clearing away brambles and bushes to uncover the old apple tree once part of an orchard. Our aim is to keep it clear and uncover more of the trees so that the apples can once again flourish.

Thanks to everyone who turned out for our Autumn litter collection today and also thank you to everyone who regularly picks up litter from on and around the common. It really makes positive a difference.

Thanks to a couple of hard-working volunteers, we able to cut most of the triangle.

Helping to protect the common

Sad to see so many more trees being cut down but once the work is complete the woods will, with time and a little help recover and be restored.

The contractors working for the estate have advised us that they will be restarting the tree felling work around the end of the first week of July.  The shaded area on the following map shows where in the woods work is to be carried out.

Please take care when using the wood while the work is taking place and if you have any questions or concerns please get in touch.

The Queen’s Oak was ceremonial planted on the common to mark the Queen’s platinum jubilee by Jeff Harvey the longest serving member of the BC&WPS committee. Thanks to all who helped make this happen and to everyone who came along to support the event.

A huge thank you to the volunteers form Red Kite for their hard work. With their help the weeds and brambles have again been cleared from around the Coronation trees and our new Oak tree has been put in place ready for the official unveiling on June 5th.

At the end of April after 5 years in the ground the base of the Information Board on the corner of the common had rotten causing it to fall.

Thanks to our volunteers it has now been replaced using two concrete posts which will keep it in place for many years to come.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to our Spring Litter Pick and to everyone who helps to keep the common and woods litter free.

A tree that had come down in the recent bad weather has been removed from the path.

Thanks to our enthusiastic volunteers who are keeping the Woodland Walk open and accessible. Brush cutting the edges of the path and clearing a fallen branch.

Amazing what a difference a new coat of paint makes….

Thanks to the West Wycombe Estate who have cleared the path after a large tree came down in the recent bad weather.
